Reiki is an ancient art of healing, over 2500 years old. It involves the laying on of hands onto a patient as Buddha and Jesus did.

The healer acts as a channel for the flow of Divine energy. The healer does not heal it is the energy, ' Ki' flowing through her/ him that helps the person heal himself.

The living body, human or animal, radiates warmth and energy. This energy is the lifeforce itself, and has as many names as there are civilisations. This energy life force is known as Mana (polynesia), Prana (India), Ruach in hebrew, Barraka in islamic countries, and Ch'i in China. Some individual healers have called it Orgone Energy, Animal Magnetism, Archaeus,. In Japan the energy is called Ki and it from this word that Reiki is named.

In order to heal others using Reiki one needs to be attuned by a master. There are several initiations:

Reiki 1 - Self-healing

Reiki 2 - Healing others, Distant Healing

Reiki 3 & 4 - Becoming a Master, Advanced Healing - cancer etc.

Reiki 1 & 2 can be taken together however some masters prefer gap of several months between attunements.

The attunement process cleanses and balances your chakras and aura as well as connecting you permanently to the souce of all universal Ch'i or Ki'.

Experiments prove that just by stroking an animal, he / she grows much better and recovers much quicker.

Attunement

The attunement also called empowerment is the heart of the Reiki system. The Reiki attunement is the holy ground where this delightful mystery connects us to our inner wholeness. The system of Reiki is often described as a healing and relaxation modality. The heart of the Reiki system is actually a doorway to enlightenment. The gift of Reiki clears the way for us to achieve our highest human potential in this lifetime. The attunement is referred to as a initiation, great clearing and awakening. The Reiki teacher helps facilitate the attunement that aligns the chakras in a beautiful and mysterious way. It is in reality clearing and revealing ones inner pure nature. The attunement is a very profound, loving, and compassionate event. During the attunement the Reiki teacher and the student become one with the wholeness that resides beyond all concepts. The experience can be as powerful for the teacher as the student.

What Will I Experience During the Attunement?

Attunements are a very individual event. No-one can say before hand what you will or will not experience. Some people have the full light display, with visions, out of body experiences, see colours, hear sounds, and other feel nothing whatsoever. Most of us fall somewhere in between. You may feel warmer or colder, sense energy in your body, feel slight novements in the air around you, discern sensations in your chakras, perhaps have the feeling of being lightly touched. Or you may feel nothing at all.......the attunement ALWAYS works, so it doesn't matter in the least what you do or don't experience - the connection to the Reiki energy is the whole point of the attunement process, and so long as that's been achieved that is all that really matters
