Sayings of Jesus
"Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
"He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives the one who sent me. Anyone who receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet's reward, and anyone who receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man will receive a righteous man's reward. And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward."
At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."
To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable: "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men-robbers, evildoers, adulterers-or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.' "But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.'
"I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life. Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. "Never, Lord!" he said. "This shall never happen to you!" Jesus turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men."
Then Jesus said to his disciples,
"If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?"
"What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, 'Son, go and work today in the vineyard.' "'I will not,' he answered, but later he changed his mind and went. "Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, 'I will, sir,' but he did not go. "Which of the two did what his father wanted?"
"The first," they answered. Jesus said to them,
"I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you."
One of the teachers of the law came and . . . he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?"
"The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this:
'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these."
"Well said, teacher," the man replied. "You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices."
When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God."
Did you know that God created all things, the universe and everything in it? God made people. God made you. You are precious to God. God loves you. It is Gods desire that all people be saved and spend eternity in Heaven with Him.
God desires to give you the gift of eternal life. This gift includes an abundant and joyful life on earth, which continues forever in heaven with God.
However, we are not able to receive this gift of eternal life on our own. There is a wide gap that separates us from God. This gap is caused by our sin. We have all sinned. We have all done, said, or thought all kinds of things which we would call sins even by our own standards. Sinful people cannot have fellowship with a holy God. Before we can come to God to receive this gift of eternal life, something must be done about our sin.
God sent his son into this world to save us from our sin. Jesus became our substitute and died on a cross. He paid the penalty for the sins of all people. Then God raised Jesus back to life. God defeated death. By that same power, God is able to give us eternal life.
Through Jesus, we now have a way to come to God and receive eternal life. There is no other way.
We can receive eternal life if we put our faith in Jesus and repent. Repent means to turn from sin, in other words, accept Jesus, ask Him to come into your life and then stop sinning. Do not think you can cleanup your life by yourself, God will help you with that part, just come to Him as you are.
The moment you put your faith in Jesus, you become a child of God. To help you live as a child of God, he will send his Holy Spirit to live in you. As God fills you with the Holy Spirit you can know his power and joy.
There is also a place for people who reject Jesus, that place is called hell. God does not want you to go there. He has already provided a way for you to spend eternity in heaven. Some people say that God is a loving God and would not send anyone to hell. He is a loving God; He loved you so much that He let Jesus be tortured and killed so you could be saved. If you reject Jesus and the sacrifice He made for you God is not sending you to hell, you are going there voluntarily. Don't make an eternal mistake and think that you don't need Jesus or that He is not real. Once you die its too late to change your mind.
Would you like to receive the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ? You can do it now if you pray the following words and mean them from the heart. There is no magic in the words. Faith is what counts.
Dear Lord Jesus, I confess to you that I am a sinner, I have sinned against you in thought word and deed. I ask you to forgive me for all the wrong I have done and to come into my life and be my lord and savior. I thank you for dying on the cross and paying for all the wrong that I have done. I ask you to help me live the life you desire me to live. Thank you.
just said that prayer and meant it God has forgiven you. Start talking
to Him everyday (praying) and if you don't have a bible you should buy
one and start reading it too. Congratulations.
Gospel of Jesus
In a nutshell, we are all sinners who are in God's debt because of our sins. Because we cannot pay the debt ourselves, God sent his own Son, Jesus Christ, to live a perfect, sinless life and then die on the cross so that his death, if we accept it by faith, could be the payment for our sins. Because Jesus had no sins of his own for which to pay, God raised Jesus from the dead into eternal life. If we believe this and confess Jesus as our Lord and Savior, God will give us eternal life, too, as a gift. Mike
"A Kashmiri pandit "started telling me a story about Jesus Christ claiming that Jesus had lived in Kashmir practising meditation. The pandit referred to a manuscript written in the Tibetan Language that is preserved in a monastery situated at the height of 14,000 feet in the Himalayas. It was later translated by a Russian writer and then into English and published as 'The Unknown Life of Jesus Christ'. ....
My guide gave me three reasons to support this statement: first, the garb which Jesus wore was a traditional Kashmiri garb; second, his hairstyle was also Kashmiri; third, the miracles that he performed are well-known yogic miracles. The pandit claimed that Jesus Christ left Asia minor for the unknown period of his life when he was thirteen years of age, and that he lived in the valleys of Kashmir until he was thirty."
