History



Earcandles are derived from a shamanistic tradition. Historical roots can be found in the steppe peoples of Siberia, in the Asian region and in the Indians of North and South America. This tradition was thought to be brought to modern Europe by the Hopi, the oldest Pueblo tribe which has vast medical knowledge and deep spirituality. Hopi Earcandles are still made today with natural ingredients following a secret original recipe

The BIOSUN Earcandles are produced from cotton and not from leaves, as was previously the case with the Hopi. The traditional Indian herbal mixture of sage, St. John's wort and camomile is still used to this day. Despite this adjustment to meet today's production requirements, BIOSUN Earcandles remain an authentic product from this cultural circle.

The earcandle is traditionally used to cleanse and harmonise different energy fields of the individual (Aura), to prepare the mediumistic state of trance and also expel negative energy. Whilst the candle burns, the pleasant heat sensation increases. Locally administered heat always stimulates peripheral blood circulation, thus intensifying the immunological defence system and lymph cleansing circulation. It also stimulates energy points and reflex zones.

In addition, high energy light from the flame penetrates through the candle tunnel bringing vital spectral frequency to important energy centres. From an esoteric point of view, the cleansing fire expels negative tenuous energy field vibrations and harmonises the energy status. The whole ceremony brings a wonderful relaxation, a deep sense of security and a feeling of happiness.

We make no claims, as there is very little if any scientific evidence, however people have found Hopi Ear Candles could helpful with:

How do Earcandles work?

The Earcandles work by causing a light suction action (chimney effect) and the movement of the flame helps to create a vibration of air in the earcandle, generating a massage-like effect on the eardrum.


A cross-section of the ear

This leads to an intensive feeling of pleasant warmth and a "liberating" balancing of pressure in the ear, forehead and sinuses.

Directly after the treatment, this physical effect is often described subjectively as a feel-good, pressure and pain-soothing sensation, mainly in the area around the ear and in the head. It can also lead to a clearing of the nasal passages and to an improved sense of smell, especially where people had a blocked nose before the treatment.

In addition, the whole ceremony leads to a wonderful sense of relaxation. A deep feeling of security and happiness, which is rare to find!

Are there any safety warnings, side effects or precautions?

Earcandles are used by setting them alight. Beware of the fire hazard! Please store the Earcandles out of childrens reach.

For safety reason we do not recommend you to carry out the treatment by yourself. It should always be done by an assiting person (eg. partner). This will ensure your safety during the treatment and enables a considerably deeper relaxation. Before you start, always place a glass of water within reach in order to extinguish the Earcandle.

As a precaution, it is advisable not to use Hopi Earcandles :

If grommets are in place
If there is inflammation or infection
In the event of an allergic reaction to the contents.

Please note you should not use Hopi EarCandles if you suffer from any of the following conditions:

Perforation or lack of eardrum
Ventilation tubes, auricular drains (paracentesis) or grommets
Recent ear surgery
Auricular cysts
Acute mastoiditis
Otosclerosis
Otospongiosis (ankylosis of the stapes)
Ear tumour

Also any condition of the ear for which you are currently receiving medical treatment, without consulting your prescribing doctor. Where long-term conditions are being treated, the client sometimes experiences slight headaches and occasional popping shortly after the treatment.

However, most clients find the treatment relaxing and regularly describe a "slight relieved feeling" in the ears and head but also a relaxing and calming effect on the whole system.

Product Description

The BIOSUN Ear Candle comprises a rolled piece of unbleached cotton, which is brushed with high quality honey extracts and divine Aroma Essences.



BIOSUN Earcandles are about 22 cm long and have a burning time of 10-12 minutes.

The lower end of the ear candle features the BIOSUN logo and a coloured marking. The inscribed end shows which end of the candle should be placed in the ear canal, whilst the coloured burn out marking provides a guide as to when the ear candle treatment has come to an end.



Inside the ear candle there is a patented safety filter, which prevents combustion residues, so-called condensate and, in some cases, unburned wax, from entering the ear canal.
