Water…the essence of life as we know it
Next to the air we breathe, water is the most important substance we will ever put in our bodies. We are water based bio chemical engines and cannot function properly without an ample supply of water. Approximately 75% of our body weight is water and it makes up over 80% of our brain and 90% of our blood.
Water effects every major function of our body including regulating our body temperature, cushioning our joints, controlling the metabolic rate of our bio chemical reactions (e.g. fat burning, digestion and blood sugar regulation), transportation of nutrients and oxygen to our cells, and the removal of the body’s wastes.
While all doctors agree that water is the most important ingredient in one’s diet, doctors and researchers have begun to discover that water can actually be used to treat and moderate certain health conditions like diabetes, arthritis, obesity, migraine headaches, hyper tension and heart disease.
Clean water has also been reported to reduce the risk of certain cancers, boost mental performance and help the body recover from injuries. The treatment is so simple that most discount it because of our society’s orientation towards pharmaceutical intervention. However it would amaze most people that they could achieve that better health condition they are seeking by just increasing the amount of water they drink, the kind of water they drink and the way they drink it.
Most health practitioners agree that we should drink at least 8-10 glasses of good, clean water per day and then add additional water based on our level of activity.
The rule of thumb is that if you have waited until you are thirsty, you have waited too long. Just as we add petrol and oil to our cars, it is important to replenish the body with water as it is being consumed. Unfortunately as we get older, our sense of thirst diminishes even though our need for water stays the same. The result is a steady, unconscious decline in our water intake and an acceleration of water intake. Clean water is a diminishing resource. We now pay nearly the same price for a litre of bottled water as we do for a litre of petrol.
History of Wellness Water
30 years ago, Harusuke Naito, a renowned sports scientist and gold medal winning Olympic swimming coach, recognized that certain waters in specific locations around the world seemed to confer unusual health and longevity in the local population. His research and experimentation to re-create this wonder of nature resulted with the release of the Wellness Filter to the Japanese public in 1986.
Now the subject of a formal study in Japan for over 10 years, the Wellness Filter has been found to not only reduce the harmful effects of chemically treated water, but to introduce delicate ions and minerals that some believe support the body’s resistance to disease and aging. The Wellness Filter was first unveiled in the UK at 4 major trade shows in 2003.
Japanese Ministry Of Health Certificate
Invented in Japan, Wellness has nearly 20 years operating experience and over 500,000 users worldwide. Only released outside of Japan in 2000, the system has now been endorsed by many high profile establishments worldwide including Hippocrates Health Institute Florida and the Japanese Ministry of Health. Wellness Water’s ability to improve the development of lean muscle mass, to hydrate muscle tissue at a rapid rate and accelerate the removal of waste products including lactic acid has seen it also adopted by many successful athletes who have chosen to keep their usage a secret.
Using 9 layers of media, mainly volcanic in origin, the system recreates water’s natural journey through the earth’s geophysical strata to provide a water equivalent to the world’s finest natural springs – with the ability to turn every home into a natural health spa.
Removing up to 99.99% of contaminants and producing water that has shown to be up to twice as hydrating as tap and bottled waters, Wellness also retains beneficial minerals and restructures water molecules into a highly structured micro-crystalline array which is ideal for cellular absorption (to see more on the properties of Wellness Water please see attached the research document published for the Inaugural Conference on Longevity, Sydney 2004).
Bottled Water Quality Investigation: 10 Major Brands, 38 Pollutants
EWG Research - October 2008
"Bottled water contains disinfection byproducts, fertilizer residue, and pain medication"
Excerpt from the report:
* Consumers should drink filtered tap water instead of bottled water. Americans pay an average of two-tenths of a cent per gallon to drink water from the tap. A carbon filter at the tap or in a pitcher costs a manageable $0.31 per gallon (12 times lower than the typical cost of bottled water), and removes many of the contaminants found in public tap water supplies.2 A whole-house carbon filter strips out chemicals not only from drinking water, but also from water used in the shower, clothes washer and dishwasher where they can volatilize into the air for families to breathe in. For an average four-person household, the cost for this system is about $0.25 per person per day.3 A single gallon of bottled water costs 15 times this amount.
EWG's study has revealed that bottled water can contain complex mixtures of industrial chemicals never tested for safety, and may be no cleaner than tap water. Given some bottled water company's failure to adhere to the industry's own purity standards, Americans cannot take the quality of bottled water for granted. Indeed, test results like those presented in this study may give many Americans reason enough to reconsider their habit of purchasing bottled water and turn back to the tap.
