Q >>Why is the Wellness expensive ?

While Wellness may seem more expensive than your average water filter, in reality it is by far the best value water filter ever made available. There are two important aspects to the cost of Wellness that should be considered.
First, the design of backwashing filters is unlike any on the market today. Its patented media array reduces the frequency of replacement cartridges required by conventional filters.
Most importantly, Wellness Filter is much more than a water filter. It has six unique types of high quality filtration media, while other filters have one. This media is both extremely rare with only one known source of SGES Tenko-Seki in the world and highly valuable.

Q >> What makes Wellness water so special ?

Although it may seem like magic, the positive effects of energised water are well documented. In simple terms, Wellness water molecules are aligned in tight linear arrays while ordinary filtered or tap water molecules are randomly oriented. As a result, Wellness water is up to twice as hydrating as other kinds of water.
Taicho and Bakuhan (the only mineral in the world ever to be certified as a ‘medicinal mineral') impart an oxidizing and alkaline stabilising quality to water that reinforces the activation process and produces a water of extraordinary quality with potential to neutralise free radicals both internally and externally.
As you may be aware, free radicals are believed to be one of the principal causes, beyond exposure to chlorine, of cancer and other degenerative diseases.

Q >> Is the Wellness Filter just another new unproven fad ?

Wellness Water has been in use in Japan for more than 18 years. The Japanese Ministry of Health has tested and approved the Wellness Filter concept and it is in use in a number of hospital and medical applications.

Q >> Why did it take so long to introduce Wellness Water here ?

The filter's inventor, Haru Naito, concentrated his efforts in Japan during the product development, testing, and introductory stages. He was reluctant to bring the filter to the rest of the world until it had finished being tested by the Japanese Ministry of Health and had reached its current mature and proven status in Japan.

Q >> What if I have a problem installing the filter?

The Wellness Filter is very easy to fit to most conventional taps (to be sure you are purchasing the correct kitchen model ie) under sink or countertop – we also jave a the Kitchen installation manual available for download)

Q >> Why is the Wellness Filter not listed by the World Health Organisation ?

In 1995, the Chinese government conducted an international competition in water filtration. They asked the WHO to help them. The WHO supplied the laboratory equipment and provided the laboratory technicians to test and evaluate each filter. In the final competition, our filter was selected by the WHO staff as the no. 1 in the competition. Legally, the Chinese government, which did nothing other than provide the location for the competition, was the entity that held the competition not the WHO. Haru considers the WHO to have supported the competition on behalf of the Chinese government. WHO does not rate water filters nor do they post them on their website.

Q >> Does the Wellness Filter flush out fluoride?

95% of all US cities use HydroFluorosilicic acid in their water plants. Wellness Filter will remove the trace radioative and heavy metals contaminants in this acid. Our filter reacts with the acid to produce calcium fluoride, which is non-toxic and completely excreted during urination.

Q >> If the filter is new to the UK , what independent standard testing has been performed on the Wellness Filter ?

The Japanese Ministry of Health has completed extensive testing before approving the filtration system for their health centres. The Japanese Waterworks Association tested and approved the Wellness Filter system. Independent testing conducted by the United States NSF Certified Laboratories for chlorine removal. Testing to Australian Standards 4348 and 4020 have been conducted by Australian certified laboratories have found that the Wellness Filter complies to all criteria set down by the Australian National Health & Medical Research Council.

Q >> What are some of the more harmful organisms and chemicals removed from water by The Wellness Filter ?

Q >> I would like to know if a lab study has been done on MTBE removal. What percentage is removed?

Wellness Filter has done lab tests for MTBE removal. The tests have concluded that the countertop filter removes MTBE below detectable limits. No filter can claim 100% removal of any contaminant, but for MTBE the Wellness Filter removes at least 99.99%.

Q >> Why should I care if water is easier to absorb ?

With the increased solubility of the Wellness Water , it will be more readily absorbed into your body making skin and hair softer. In addition, it will enhance the absorption of vitamins and minerals into your body. It has also been shown to help clear up digestive problems.

Q >> How can the Wellness Filter water make fruit and vegetables last longer ?

Because our water is more easily absorbed and has a lower surface tension, the cell membranes in vegetables and fruit take up water more thoroughly and stay fresher longer. The same holds true with flowers kept in fresh Wellness Water . An additional benefit is that the lower surface tension gives Wellness Water the ability to more thoroughly wash off pesticides.

Q >> How long is the water stable after it comes out of the filter? Also, does this water have the same physical properties as the water found in the Hunza people of Pakistan ?

The water is stable for up to 48 hours after production, which is longer than any other ionized water system. It has many of the same properties as Hunza water, but also has other technologies which greater improve the water.

Q >> What is Alkaline water and what are its benefits?

Alkaline water is water with a pH of more than 7.4 (usually between 7.6 and 7.8). Wellness believe that slightly alkaline water is best for consumption. Hydroxyl Ions inside alkaline water donate their extra electrons to free radicals and therefore becomes a liquid antioxidant. Alkaline water also balances the body pH which is often acidic, especially among ill people. Our diet is often extremely acidic. Soft drinks, fast foods, and processed foods deposit acid waste in our bodies that can build up over time and create an ideal environment for diseases and cancer cells to thrive. The accumulation of acidic by-products in the body is believed to be a rapid accelerator of aging according to many researchers. Maintaining an alkaline pH (7.6 - 8.0) helps us to maintain an environment in our bodies that is NOT conducive to disease. After consumption, the antioxidant properties generally last approximately 18 - 24 hours, and the alkaline properties will last approximately 1 - 2 weeks.

Q >> Why is The Wellness Filter's™ magnetic water treatment better than others on the market?

The Wellness Filter™ uses a patented very-high-gauss granulated magnet treatment method that more effectively alters the structure of water molecules. Magnets affect water when the molecules are at 90º to the magnetic field. With the thousands of small, granulated magnets in The Wellness Filter™, virtually all the water passing through the magnetic media is affected. Other filters use solid magnets either surrounding or in the water flow. The magnetic surface only has one alignment, thus affecting only those few water molecules aligned at 90º.

Q >> Is the Wellness Filter used medically to treat skin conditions in Japan?

Yes. It was these properties that lead the Japanese Ministry of Health to install the Wellness Filter in over 100 of their health treatment spas and hospitals throughout Japan . Japanese citizens of all ages receive spa treatment with Wellness LivingWater to assist in the treatment of these conditions. Researchers found that the filter alters both the redox potential of water, due to the synergistic effect of the exotic media, and also alters the bacteriostatic condition of water.
These changes give it a bio-static effect as well as the ability to neutralise free radicals. It is believed by the Japanese Ministry of Health that Wellness stimulates the body's immune system. The result is that in Japan many chronic skin ailments have been shown to benefit from only a few weeks or months of routine exposure and consumption.
The most visible affects of the water can be seen when used to treat chronic skin ailments such as eczema and psoriasis. These pictures were taken from case studies of people using Wellness Water for drinking and bathing. Most of the results were obtained in under 3 months.

Q >> Can the Wellness Filter water really help my teeth and improve dental health ?

Yes. In independent studies, treated water has been shown to dramatically reduce over 40% of the bacteria that leads to gingivitis – one of the principal causes of gum disease.

Q >> What about Backwashing ?

Nearly all other filters use synthetic filter material such as plastic, nylon, paper, and polymers that are damaged by hot water. As a result, they require constant filter replacement.
Wellness Systems on the other hand, are able to maintain peak performance for their entire rated lifespan (50 years for Wellness MGIII and commercial Marc IV) by regularly backwashing the filter with hot or cold water. This not only releases contaminants trapped in the top layer of ultra-fine SPG Volcanic Sand but the special media effects a change in the water so that it actually re-generates the carbon, prompting it to release trapped chemicals and chlorides. This backwashing process suppresses the growth of microbes and particulates before they accumulate and eliminates the need for costly replacement filters to just one replacement every 10 years for the average family household.

Q >> Can a whole house filter be used on a swimming pool? Will it eliminate the need to use chlorine?

Our MkII & MkIV Models, whole house units, are not equipped to handle the mass amount of flow-per-minute or the unique situations with a pool filter. However, we do sell a custom-made pool filter specifically designed to keep your pool filled with pure wellness water that will be bacteria, fungus, and algae free without the use of chlorine or similar chemicals. However, as with all pools, you will be required to chlorine shock the pool once every few weeks (standard procedure). This chlorine will dissipate completely in about 12 hours just like normal shocking.

Q >> I have a 7000 sq. foot home and want to know if I need the larger of the whole house filters. What is the difference in the two products and about how many bathrooms will each one handle?

It really depends on how much water you anticipate you will be using at one time. The MGIII has a flow rate of 45 litres per minute. Even if there were a couple people taking a shower and the washing machine was running, this filter should be able to handle it. An MGIII is standard for a house with 3 or 4 bathrooms. If you have several bathrooms, but few people living in the house, an MGIII should be sufficient. The Marc IV is recommended for anyone using well water (because these units are custom built to meet your own water specifications) and for those anticipating water usage of above 45 and up to 151 litres per minute.

Q >> Can you easily switch from regular tap water (eg. to wash the dishes) and filtered water for drinking ?

Yes, there is a valve on our kitchen units which will allow you to select from either filtered water or tap water for your convenience. Tap water selected will bypass the entire filter.

Q >>Do I have to store my Carafe in the fridge?

There is no need to store the Wellness Carafe in the fridge – we leave the choice of temperature to the customer’s own personal taste.

Q >>Do I have to leave the Wellness Carafe cartridge submerged in water?

No, the Wellness Carafe cartridge is unlike other jug filters in that it uses granulated carbon instead of block carbon – block carbon can go brittle if left dry where as with granulated carbon - there is no such problem.

Q >>Is the plastic used in the carafe safe to store energised water?

Yes, the Wellness Carafe is made from non-leaching medical grade plastic.

Q >>How do I tell when my cartridge needs replacing?

The best way to tell when the Carafe cartridge needs replacing is to realise that the top reservoir of the Carafe holds exactly one litre of water. Once you have ascertained how many times per day you fill this reservoir, you can divide the number into 150 litres and establish how many days the cartridge will last. You can then set the date ring to the period in the future when you need to replace

Q >>My water is very hard, will this mean that the filter cartridges won’t last as long?

The level of hardness does not affect the filter’s integrity. It is only the level of contaminants in the water that affects cartridge life not the level of dissolved minerals.

Q >>If I was to purchase a Wellness Home System or another Wellness System that requires plumbing, can they be easily installed and would I be able to take them with me if I was to move house?

The Wellness Home System® is easy to install and takes around an hour’s plumbing time for a certified plumber. As with all Wellness Systems full installation instructions are provided with the purchase and all can be removed and reinstalled if you choose to move house.

Q >>Is the Wellness Shower filter easy to fit?

There are two ways of fitting a Wellness Shower to your bathroom water supply. The first way is to attach it to the wall rose i.e.) if you just have a shower head in your bathroom and no shower box - you would just unscrew your existing shower head and screw the Wellness Shower on in its place.
The second option is applicable when you have a shower box fitted on the wall. What you do is firstly remove the shower head from the Wellness Shower leaving just the cartridge. You would then unscrew the shower hose where it enters your shower box then screw the Wellness Shower cartridge onto your shower box and screw the hose running from your existing showerhead onto the other end of the shower cartridge. The water will then run from the shower box through the Wellness cartridge and through your existing shower hose up to your existing shower head.
